6.7.1.RS232
The RS232 interface allows simple data transfer between two devices (point-to-point
connection). PiXtend V2 -L- converts the UART signals of the Raspberry Pi to the rugged
RS / EIA232 standards.
Applications

Connection to computer (data transfer or Linux terminal)

Data exchange with other control devices, measuring instruments, scales and
microcontrollers

Service access for telephone systems

Connection to analog modems and other electronics classics

RS232 can be easily converted to USB (external adapter)
The transceiver installed on PiXtend is proven millions of times, short-circuit-proof and can
withstand overvoltages of up to +/- 30V at its inputs.
