Manually Removing Cartridges
There are two levels of access control. The first is a mechanical
lock which is manipulated by the key. The second is password
protection which is invoked by either the host SCSI Mode
Select
command, LCD Page Security option, or through the
Security option on the Operator Panel.
To manually remove media, follow this procedure.
If locks are enabled, all locks must be disabled before the
procedure will successfully work.
Step 1
If the password option is enabled, enter the
password.
Step 2
Use the Operator Panel to place the library
into the NOT READY state. Refer to Mode Dialog on
page 5-10.
The Accessor completes any current task and returns to
the home position.
Step 3
Using the key, unlock and open the library door.
Step 4
Remove the cartridge from the desired storage cell.
Step 5
Close and lock the door.
Step 6
Place the library in the READY state. Refer to Mode
Dialog on page 5-10.
Step 7
If the library does not perform an inventory within
one minute, execute a SCSI INITIALIZE
ELEMENT STATUS
or a library Operator Panel
Inventory
command.
