Field Name

Description

Parameter Control Byte 

DU, DS, TSD, ETC, TMC, and LP are collectively referred to as the Parameter 
Control Byte.

DU

Disable Update. This bit is always 0.

DS

Disable Save. Since the tape drive does not support 
saving parameters, this bit is always 1. 

TSD

Target Save Disable. Since the tape drive does not 
support saving parameters, this bit is always 1.

ETC

Enable Threshold Comparison. The tape drive does not 
support threshold checking on this page. This bit is 
always 0. 

TMC

Threshold Met Criteria. This bit is always 0.

LP

List Parameter. This bit is always 0 since the tape drive 
treats the parameter codes as data counters. 

Compression Ratio

The compression ratio is reported as the actual compression ratio multiplied by 
100.
