Specification of Water
The water side channels in a BPHE may clog if parti-
cles such as silt, pipe slag, biological matter, and so on,
are not prevented from entering the unit. These matters
could otherwise block the channels, causing bad per-
formance and increased pressure drop. Under extreme
conditions, they may lead to BPHE freezing.
The piping system must be properly flushed to clean
out the debris and particles generated in the piping
welding and process before the BPHE is connected.
Strainers can prevent BPHE from blocking. If any of
the media contains particles larger than 1 mm, a strain-
er with a size of 20 mesh is recommended at the up-
stream of the BPHE.
Back flushing is an ideal method to clear out the block-
age. Contact a professional company if a chemical
cleaning to BPHE is required. Chemical cleaning is
one of the high risks of BPHE corrosion, any chemical
corrosion will void the warranty.
No muddy water is permitted to use in this chiller.
Check the chemical specification of water in the table
below for chemical consideration.
