4.1.3 Configuration > WLAN
From the
Configuration
pane, select the
WLAN
menu to set up the network configuration of the
WLAN
interface on your device.
The maximum length for WLAN
PSK
crypto keys is 63 ASCII characters max.
◬
When the
WLAN
interface must be used, the
LAN
interface must be kept in
DHCP
mode and the
RJ45
cable must be removed, meaning LAN
network disconnected. In this case, at every device boot-up, if the network is available on the
LAN
interface, the IP address is given by the
DHCP
server to the
LAN
interface, if not, the network connectivity is done with the
WLAN
interface.
◬
When the
LAN
interface is configured with a static IP address, the device stays definitively with the static IP address for the LAN interface
set by the user even if there is not
LAN
network connectivity after a device boot-up. The network connectivity failover
LAN
to
WLAN
does not
work in this case.
◬
As soon as the
WLAN
configuration is inactivated through the device configuration Web UI, or if the
WLAN
interface is not properly
configured, the connection with the device is lost. The only way to connect to it again is with a RJ45 Ethernet cable or to inject a suitable
configuration script with an USB-C storage device.
◬
After having removed a registered
WLAN
network, the removal is effective when the user clicks on the Validate button. If there is no other
valid registered
WLAN
network, the only way to connect to the device again is with a RJ45 Ethernet cable or to inject a suitable configuration
script with an USB-C storage device.
In DHCP mode:
if neither the
LAN
connectivity nor the
WLAN
connectivity is working or the
WLAN
interface is inactivated, the IP address value is
unavailable
and
a valid IP address is got back only few seconds after the network connectivity is restored.
Procedure to configure the WLAN interface:
with the configuration Web user interface:
plug the RJ45 cable on the device to supply network connectivity for it,
connect to the device configuration Web interface with a Web browser:
activate
DHCP
for the
Configuration > LAN
Web page,
add a valid
WLAN
configuration (SSID, authentication, crypto key),
reboot the device with the device configuration Web interface and unplug immediately the RJ45 cable.
with a configuration script:
inject a USB storage device having a suitable configuration script on the
USB 1
or
USB 2
USB-C connector of the AMP300.
To detect the
WIFI spots SSID
, click on the
Scan
button.
