
The media server should now be transmitting the video to the media
adapter. Playback information will appear in the Server Status panel.
10. Write down the IP address shown in the Server Status panel.
This will be 169.254.x.y, where x and y are random numbers from 1 to
254.
11. Press the remote control’s stop button (marked with a solid white
square).
The playback information in the Server Status panel should disappear.
You no longer need the media server, but there is no harm in leaving it
running.
To link to the Web-based setup utility
when you know the media adapter’s
IP address, carry out these steps:
1. Start up your Web browser.
2. Type the utility’s URL into the browser’s address box.
The URL is http:// followed by the media adapter’s IP address and a
slash. For example, if the media adapter’s IP address is
169.254.123.123, type http://169.254.123.123/ into the box.
3. Press the Enter key.
You will be prompted for a user name and password.
4. Type root into the user name box and press Enter (or click OK).
The Web-based setup utility’s opening panel will appear.
The Web-based setup utility has eight panels for viewing and changing media
adapter settings. Their names appear on the command bar near the top of the
opening panel. To display a panel, click its name on the command bar.
The panels are described briefly below.
Administrator:
Lets you set a password and change the user name that must be
typed in to access the utility.
Network:
Lets you change the media adapter’s IP settings.
Wireless:
Lets you change the media adapter’s wireless networking settings.
System:
Lets you adjust the media adapter’s video output.
Language:
Lets you change the language used by the media adapter on your TV or
projector screen and in the Web-based setup utility’s panels.
Factory Defaults:
Lets you restore the media adapter’s factory settings.
Firmware Upgrade:
Lets you load new firmware code into the media adapter.
