If the oil colour changes
(whitening - contains water, darkening - extreme
overheating),
change the oil immediately
(Point 8.2.3).
Ensure that no leaking oil
leakage from the connection points reaches the outside of the compressor.
8.2.2
Regulation of the oil level (oil-lubricated compressors only)
Do not mix oils of different types and properties. The compressor is supplied with the
oil grade specified on the acceptance and packing slip.
If the oil level is
below the permissible mark
(Point 8.2.1)
, the oil must be refilled as
follows:
1
Remove the cap from the filler neck at the top of the crankcase.
2
Fill with oil up to the desired height.
3
Close the lid again.
8.2.3 Oil Change (oil-lubricated compressors only)
DANGER: BURN RISK.
THE OIL IN THE COMPRESSOR MAY BE HOT!
Change the oil after the first 50 operating hours and then every 300 hours. The
recommended oil types are
stated under
Point 8.2.4.
To change the oil:
1
Switch off the compressor in accordance with
Point 6.7.
2
Wait until the oil is luke warm.
3
Remove the cap from the filler neck at the top of the crankcase.
4
Loosen the drainage plug on the bottom of the crankcase.
5
Place a suitable vessel beneath in order to drain the oil, remove the drainage
plug and drain the oil.
6
Replace the drainage plug and tighten.
7
Fill up to the desired level using the oil types recommended in this user
manual. Refer to
Appendix B for the oil fill volume.
8
Close the lid again.
9
Dispose of the used oil in accordance with environmental protection
regulations.
8.2.4 Recommended oil types (oil-lubricated compressors only)
When filling the compressor, use oils of the specified types below, with a viscosity of
100 mm

8.2.5 Checking of the tightening torque of the cylinder head bolts in the piston cylinder
Check the tightening torque of the cylinder head bolts in the piston cylinder after the
first 8 hours and after 50 hours of operation and tighten in order to compensate for
temperature-induced volume changes. For the tightening torque, refer to
Table 2.
Only tighten the screws once the piston cylinder has cooled to ambient temperature.
