FUEL TANK SERVICE
FUEL TANK REMOVAL
NOTICE
Syphon as much fuel from the tank as possible before
attempting to remove it from the vehicle.
WARNING
Always wear safety goggles when working with high
pressure or flammable fluids. Failure to do so could
result in serious injury or complications.
1. Remove the seats and access panels.
2. Disconnect the negative and positive battery cables
from the battery, located under the driver’s seat.
Remove the bolt retaining the battery bracket and
remove the battery from the vehicle.
3. If equipped, pull up the rubber fuel pump cover when
disconnecting the fuel line and electrical connectors.
4. While holding a shop towel over the fuel line
connectors, disconnect the fuel supply line

from
the pump. Refer to
“Fuel Line Replacement”
page
procedure.
NOTICE
A small amount of fuel may come out of the fuel lines or
pump fitting. Properly drain fuel into a suitable
container.
5. Disconnect the fuel pump electrical harness

6. Remove the fuel cap.
7. Remove the interior body components down to the
rear lower close-off panel. Refer to
procedure.
8. Remove the fasteners holding the seat base
assembly to the vehicle.
