Firewall
and set
restrictions on the user access. Only the allowed users can establish network
connections to the Server. You can use
Firewall
to protect the host machine from the
risk of attacks from the outside intruders as well as allow specific Internet access. The
Server uses the strict deny-everything policy. You have to configure before any user
access can be allowed.
Click the
On
or
Off
button to enable or disable firewall. The Firewall is defaulted as
disabled
. The administrator is allowed to use the following two methods to filter user’s
access.
Trusted hosts or IP addresses
: enter the trusted hosts or IP addresses and click
Add
to confirm. Regardless of the port restrictions, all trusted PCs are only allowed to access
the web page service hosted on the Server when the firewall is enabled. All other
network services will be blocked unless the desired port number has been added into the
accepted ports.
Accepted ports
: You can configure to allow part of the service ports from the list. Enter
an allowed port number and click
Add
to enable the specified service port. To remove
any service port from the accepted list, click
Delete
and
OK
to confirm. After the firewall
function is enabled, the removed ports will not provide services.
If you are uncertain what port number to add, press
Auto configure accepted ports by
current services
, the system will detect the ports you need to use, and add the ports
into the accepted ports list automatically.
