4.5. Memory Manager
4.5.1. General Information
The IT-088 is equipped with nonvolatile NVRAM with independent power supply for
storage of various data of the Data Logger. The NVRAM is powered either from the main
batteries or, if main batteries are not available, from a standby built-in battery.
The Analyzer contains several memory sections. These are channel plan list, channel
data log, and spectrum data log. Different configurations of IT-08 may have other sections
located in the memory.
Every page of the log stored into the memory is a file, reference to which can be found
in the file location table. Each file consists of smallest storage cells called clusters.
Memory manager program is intended for detecting and eliminating the errors, and for
NVRAM maintenance. The memory maganer allows viewing the cluster distribution within
the NVRAM, checking the memory resources (determine the amount of the memory
available), performing the file structure testing, as well as formatting the memory (erasing
all files and markers).
CAUTION
Perform operations with memory manager with caution.
Incorrect actions may lead to partial or total data loss.
4.5.2. Operating the Memory Manager
The
icon in the main menu corresponds to the memory manager mode.
See figure
4.28:
Figure 4.28
The screen displays the memory cluster table. The upper row of the table divides the
table into columns. The first column contains the cluster group numbers from 1 to 62.
Further in the same row the location and cluster status within a group of 16 clusters are
shown. The bottom row contains the list of commands that can be selected using the
functional keys. Using
« »
and
« »
arrows you can select a cluster group.
List of available commands:
a) Testing the file structure and checking the clusters (
Check
). Select by
«F1»
. Allows
testing the file structure of the memory.
b) Determining the memory resources (
Free
). Select by
«F2»
. Allows determining the
occupied/available memory.
c) Viewing the structure tables and files of all types (
Tbl
). Select by
«F3»
. Allows
viewing the table of memory structures and file tables of each structure.
d) Clearing the memory (
Erase
). Select by
«F4»
. Allows deleting all files, as well as
formatting and testing the memory.
In the talbe the cluster status is marked as follows:
a)
о
– the cluster is free;
b)
x
– the cluster is occupied;
c)
B
– the cluster is damaged (checksum error).
