Setting driver options
The Driver Options area of the DOME tab lets you to select
these options:
• Disable DirectDraw
• Single-channel Grayscale
To disable DirectDraw
DirectDraw
is an Application Programming Interface (API)
that allows direct manipulation of the video display. To disable
DirectDraw, select the Disable DirectDraw option in the
Driver Options area of the DOME tab.
DirectDraw applications expect the screen to be represented
as a single element. If you are using one Md2/PCI board with
multiple screens, or multiple Md2/PCI boards, more than one
screen can represent the desktop.
To set single-channel grayscale
Grayscale monitors do not use the red and blue video output
channels. When red and blue output is sent to a grayscale
monitor, it can cause screen interference. The DOME driver
provides a single-channel grayscale option to eliminate this
screen interference by disabling video output to the red and
blue video channels.
DOME recommends that you set the Single-channel
Grayscale
option if you are using a grayscale monitor.
With multiple displays representing the desktop, DirectDraw
applications cannot access the entire desktop and may not
work properly.
