Parking/Emergency Brakes
The Park Brake is a spring applied, hydraulic pressure released
calliper brake acting on the rear axle input shaft. It requires
hydraulic pressure to release. A further Park Brake is contained
inside the gearbox that is also operated by the same control.
The Park Brake is controlled by a lever at the rear of the RH
console panel. In the front console a warning light will
illuminate when the Park Brake is applied. When the brake is
applied it automatically disables the Joystick, putting the drive
into NEUTRAL.
To release the Park Brake –
1.
Ensure Joystick is in NEUTRAL
2.
Raise outer lock collar on the Park Brake lever and
move into forward position. The RED PARK BRAKE
warning light goes out.
3.
The Park Brake is released and the machine will
immediately be moved by inputs of the Joystick.
4.
IMPORTANT
The joystick will be disabled if not in its
neutral
position when the park brake is released.
To engage the Park Brake
5.
With the Joystick in NEUTRAL and the machine
stationary, raise the outer lock collar and move the
lever rearward.
6.
The Park Brake will immediately be applied.
IMPORTANT
The parking brake should normally be engaged
ONLY
when the machine is
already
stationary. If activated
when travelling, the machine will stop immediately,
the park brake will apply and the Joystick will go into
neutral.
Only apply the parking brake when moving in an
emergency.
Stored hydraulic energy will operate the Park Brake, even when
the engine is not running. This allows for up to five Park Brake
operations (ON/OFF). When this hydraulic energy is exhausted
the Park Brake will no longer release unless the engine is
running to re-charge the brake system.
