9.3 Backing up/Recovering
It is advisable to make backups of your device data regularly in case important data is accidentally
lost or damaged. You can recover your data from those backup copies as needed. You can use your
device storage or a removable storage card for backup and restore.
Backing up Data
1. Tap

Programs
>
Local Backup
.
2. Tap the
Backup
button.
3. Select the items that you want to backup (e.g. all of
My Documents
, or perhaps only
Notes
and
Tasks
).
4. A file name is given for the backup file automatically; however. you can change it for your own
needs.
5. Select a destination for the backup: Phone storage or Mini-SD card.
6. Tap the
Backup
Button.
7. When backup is complete, tap
to dismiss the
Backup Complete
message.
Recovering Data
1. Tap
>
Programs
>
Local Backup
.
2. Tap the
Recover
button.
3. Select the items that you want to recover.
4. If necessary, input the path and file name for the backup file.
5. Tap the
Recover
Button.
6. Tap
to dismiss the completion message.
Only items that have already been backed up can be recovered from their backup copies.
Installed applications cannot be backed up or restored.
When you backup
Inbox
(e-mails), only headlines of your e-mails can be backed up.
