Adjusting the needle thread cutting
(only on the PFAFF 3586-25/..)
Rule
The knife 1 should retract into the stitch triangle clamped by the thread clamp 2 after
sewing.

Loosen the screws 3 .

Adjust the thread trimmer so that the knife moves in parallel to the cover plate 4 .

Tighten the screws 3 .

Loosen the screws 5 .

Align the knife 1 in parallel to the cover plate 4 . Position of the screws 5 centred in the
elongated holes.

Tighten the screws 5 .

Loosen the screws 6 .

Adjust the height of the knife 1 so that the knife holder 8 does not grind on the cover
plate 4 . The clearance should be approx. 1 . 5 mm.

Tighten the screws 6 .
The speed of the slow starting stitches must be adjusted to satisfy the rule .
Parameter " 504 " (n = 8 00 min
-1
) and parameter " 505 " (8 stitches) are recom-
mended, see chapter 13.12.02 List of parameters.
- These values must be adjusted if necessary depending on the seam con-
struction diagram:
Start backtack stitch count,
Start backtack stitch length
- Works with starting stitch condensation only with suffi ciently large seam
construction diagram displacement.

The thread clamp 2 should be positioned vertically facing upwards when the cylinder 7 is
retracted.
