Instructions for Installation and Use - Technical Cabinet with Main Unit and Nodes – Preliminary Draft –
9.4 Composition
The System is composed of four groups of materials:
Material
Weight
Plastic
≈
220g
Metal (steel)
≈
8.75 kg
Electronics and PCB
≈
150g
Battery
≈
50g
The exact weight of The System may very due the weight of electrical cables and accessories.
9.5 Disassembly of the System
After the System has passed its life span it must be recycled according to the local regulatory.
Most of the parts such as paper, metal (iron, aluminum) and plastic can be recycled at the local
recycling stations according to the local regulatory, but the components containing possible
hazardous substances such as lead (Pb) Mercury (Hg) and the Cadmium (Cd) must be
recycled according to the EU legislation of RoHS as they can present hazards to the public
health and environment. The components used in system are according to the RoHS directive
(2011/65/EU). Parts such as batteries and electrolytic capacitors should be recycled
separately according to the EU directive on RoHS (2011/65/EU). Extra precautions must be
taken while disposing the batteries.
A complete list on Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) is attached in Annex A.
9.6 Recycling the Technical Cabinet
To disassemble the product following steps should be taken:
1.
Pull the lock pins from both hinges to remove the door. Recycle as steel.
2.
Remove the Main Unit, pry away the circuit board and recover the battery, recycle the
rest as electronic waste. The lithium ion battery should be recycled separately
according to the local regulatory requirements.
3.
Remove the Charging Bay and cut lose all wires. Recycle the Charging Bay panel as
aluminum and the cables as electronic waste.
4.
Remove the Main Unit mount assembly and recycle as aluminum.
5.
Remove the power distribution system as well as the antenna foot mount and recycle
as electronic waste.
6.
Remove the carrying handle and recycle as plastic.
7.
The rest can be recycled as steel.
9.7 Recycling of the Nodes
To disassemble the Nodes the following steps should be taken
1.
Open the enclosure.
2.
Locate the lithium ion battery and recycle it separately according to the local
regulatory requirements.
3.
The PCB should be recycled as electronic waste, the rest as plastic.
