Instructions for Installation and Use - Technical Cabinet with Main Unit and Nodes – Preliminary Draft –
Main Unit model L-11
The Main Unit acts as a gateway to the Internet in effect transferring the data collected by the
paired Nodes via the mobile phone network to the Web Portal where it can be accessed by
the user. The Main Unit also acts as a buffer storage for data not yet transferred. If the
communication between the Main Unit and the Internet for some reason is interrupted, the
Main Unit will buffer the collected data until a connection can be re-established.
Normally the Main Unit is powered through the Technical Cabinets built in AC-DC power supply
through the USB cable emerging from the Charging Bay. If the mains supply for some reason
is interrupted an internal back-up battery takes over and provides power for up to 24 hours of
normal operation. How long the back-up battery can uphold normal operation depends on data
load and communication settings.
