Instructions for Installation and Use - Technical Cabinet with Main Unit and Nodes – Preliminary Draft –
Resetting the node
The Node can be reset by holding the power button for 10 seconds as shown on the keypads
settings. Performing a Reset will not clear the Node memory from measured data.
3.7.1.3 Read battery status and signal quality
The “
READ
” section
[A]
of the keypad enables the User to read battery status and the signal
quality. By pressing “
BATTERY STATUS
” the Node shows the battery charge level by lighting
the LED indicators
[B]
referring to the scale above them; WEAK to STRONG. Pressing
“
SIGNAL QUALITY
” makes the Node show the radio signal strength measured between the
Main Unit and the Node at hand referring to the scale above them; WEAK to STRONG. No
signal is indicated with the WEAK indicator flashing for a few seconds.
3.7.1.4 Check thermocouple integrity (Node type N-TE only)
Press both “
BATTERY STATUS
” and “
SIGNAL QUALITY
” on the N-TE Node to perform a
thermocouple integrity check. The Node will test the thermocouple channels for eight seconds
and then signal the result on the LED indicator lamps. During the test LED 1 and 3 will flash at
a rapid rate until the test is complete.

The thermocouple integrity test will fail under the following circumstances:
1. No thermocouple is connected.
2. The connected thermocouple is damaged (broken lead).
3. The connected thermocouple is not properly short circuited in the measurement
end.
Thermocouples can be tested using the diode testing function of a multimeter.
