Repeat steps

to install the remaining power cable.
4.
Verify that the AC power cord included with your IpChannel Bank is compatible with local standards. If it
is not, refer to chapter 6,
“Contacting Patton for assistance”
on page 48 to find out how to replace it with
compatible power cord.
5.
Connect the male end of the power cord to an appropriate power outlet.
6.
Verify that the green
POWER
LED is lit.
Hardware installation is complete. Refer to chapter 4,
“Getting started with the SmartNode 4900 Series”
on
page 36.
Installing the power cables—DC units
Do not connect the power cables to the DC power source at this time
. For the DC power source, the
IpChannel Bank is equipped with a two-position, screw-down terminal block (see
figure 13
).

Connect the earth ground of the DC source to the grounding stud on the DACS as described in the previ-
ous section entitled “Grounding the Model SN4900—AC and DC units.”

Strip back the insulation on each of the wires approximately 1/4-inch.
Mains Voltage: Do not open the case when either power cord is attached. The
SmartNode router is equipped with dual power supplies. Disconnect both
power supply cords before servicing. For systems without a power switch,
line voltages are present within the power supply when the power cords are
connected. The mains outlet that is utilized to power the SmartNode router
shall be within 10 feet (3 meters) of the device, shall be easily accessible, and
protected by a circuit breaker.
The Model SN4900 can only be configured with two AC power
supplies or two DC supplies, you cannot mix AC and DC sup-
plies in the same chassis.
