- to install the coil with the wire of the required diameter;
- to lead the free end of the wire through the input channel to the welding burner;
- to put the automatic switch

on the rear panel in the “|” position;
- using button

, to set the SA "MIG/MAG" welding mode (the modes are switched
in a circle);
- to set the required welding voltage using buttons
2
;
- on the wire feed unit, set the required wire feed speed;
- if necessary, you can adjust the additional functions of the welding process (for
the order of change, see clause 6.1).
To control the source on and off, the control panel
6
is provided on the rear
panel. Connection diagram:
Only pins 1 and 2 are used, which close at the right time. When the source
should work, the contacts are closed, when the source should be turned off - they
are opened.
ATTENTION
!!! The wiring diagram and the implementation in the wire feed
units for each specific case is
individual
, therefore it is not given in this manual.
Please, look for it in the specific feed unit operating manual.
In the independent wire feed units of the new generation manufactured by
PATON™, everything is already provided for, therefore the adaptation will take
place with minimal effort. You only need to spent only on fixing the plug in
connector

Do not forget about the protective gas supply. If you are a beginner and do not
have experience in setting the optimum pressure for welding a particular product,
then at the first moment the gas pressure can be set higher than the optimal value
of ~ 0.2 MPa, this will have little effect on the process only by increasing the
protective gas flow. But in the future, to save money, follow the general guidelines
for welding with semiautomatic devices. Also, please, start with the middle
position of the wire feed speed regulator on the wire feeder (~ 6...8 m/min) and
medium voltage at the source (~ 19 V) at any diameter of the installed wire
(Ø0.6…1.2 mm). These values may not be optimal, but with proper operation and
