SETTING SECURITY MODE
When the device boots up for the first time, or if it has been Factory Defaulted, you must choose a Security Mode.
Before you can configure and use the device, you must either:
• Use Pathscape to Secure the device
(Add it to a Security Domain).
No input from the front panel is required here

OR:
• Enable
Local Configuration Only
(Read only) mode.

• As described earlier in this manual, press any button twice to enter the menu, which will show the
Device Insecure
menu
item. Press the left button to select
SECURE
. You will then have full access to the menus.
• In Local Configuration / Read Only mode,
Pathway ssACN
(Secure sACN) is not available. To use other standard
(unsecured) protocols, you
must manually enable them
(see below). As explained above, you cannot use Pathscape
to configure the device in this mode.
MAIN DISPLAY MESSAGES
When idle, the main LCD will show the device soft label (Name set in Pathscape), or its IP address if a Name has not been set.

Univ1 IdleOut
The lower line will show the Universe number (or patch name if using a custom patch), and the DMX status. The DMX status
field will change depending if the DMX port is set as an input or an output, and if there is active DMX on the port.
The possible values for the DMX status are:
• IdleOut
: DMX Port is set as an Output; DMX is not currently being output.
• LiveOut
: DMX Port is set as an Output; DMX is actively being output.
• IdleIn
: DMX Port is set as an Input; DMX is not currently being received.
• LiveIn
: DMX Port is set as an Input; DMX is actively being received.
