The cleaning and disinfection procedure must be recognised as effective
(e.g., in the list of tested and recognised disinfectants and procedures issued
by the Robert Koch Institute/DGHM) and already validated in all cases.
If other procedures are used, their effectiveness must be confirmed during
validation. CE-approved chemical disinfectants may also be used, provided
they satisfy the requirements for material resistance (see Chapter 7.1
"Material resistance").
Please follow the instructions in Chapter 7.1 "Material resistance".
In addition, please follow the hygiene regulations of the hospital or medical
practice.
6.4.1 Cleaning/disinfection
Clean and disinfect immediately after use. Ideally, a mechanical procedure
(instrument dishwasher) is to be used.
• Prepare for cleaning and disinfection as described in Chapter 6.2
"Preparation".
Any suitable cleaning agent/disinfectant can be used.
Recommended procedure: Thermal disinfection
• Place the disassembled components of the PARI PEP System in the
instrument disinfector.
• Select the 93 °C programme (treatment time 10 minutes).
The effectiveness of this procedure has been confirmed using a G7836 CD
disinfector manufactured by Miele with neodisher
®
medizym cleaning agent
manufactured by Chemische Fabrik Dr. Weigert, Hamburg.

Recommended procedure: Manual cleaning/disinfection
The effectiveness of this procedure has been proven using the Korsolex
®
-
Endo-Cleaner cleaning agent in combination with the Korsolex
®
basic disinfec-
tant made by BODE CHEMIE HAMBURG.
• The components must be placed in a 0.5% solution of Korsolex
®
-Endo-
Cleaner and warm water at a temperature of approx. 50 °C, and cleaned
thoroughly for 5 minutes.
• The components are then placed in a 4% disinfectant solution of
Korsolex
®
basic for 15 minutes.
• Then the components of the PARI PEP System are rinsed thoroughly in
hygienically tested water and left to dry completely (for at least 4 hours) on a
clean, dry and absorbent surface.
