5.1 Treatment without PARI nebuliser
Refer to Chapter 4.1.1 or 4.2.1 to ensure that you have assembled the
PARI PEP System correctly. Check that you have chosen the correct expira-
tory resistance setting (see Chapter 4.3). Use the nose clip to help you obtain
the most efficient PEP treatment possible.
Perform the therapy as follows:
- Children and anyone who requires assistance must be supervised
at all times by an adult during the PEP treatment session.
Otherwise, safe and effective treatment cannot be guaranteed.
- Cough to clear any secretion that is loosened during the treat-
ment. Avoid coughing the secretions into the PARI PEP System.
Caution: Contains small parts which can be swallowed!
• Sit in an upright position and relax.
• Hold the mouthpiece (1) between your teeth,
close your lips tightly around it and inhale.
• Exhale through the mouthpiece.
The exhaled air should pass through the
openings on the PEP upper part (2).
