  SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

5

WARNING

J

Be careful not to get your body caught.

z

When used together with a bed side-rail or swing
arm bed grip/side support, your body may get
caught in the gap between those products or bed
and the air mattress and you may be injured or
suffocated due to the pressure. Special attention is
required because this product easily sinks because
of its characteristics.

J

Take care to prevent the drain tube from getting
caught.

z

Take care to prevent the drain tube from getting
caught in the gap between the air mattress, bed,
and a bed-side rail or swing arm bed grip. The drain
tube could come off or be smashed.

J

Do not operate the operation panel with part of
the body placed in the gap between the bed
and a bed-side rail, etc.

z

The body part may get caught in the gap, possibly
causing injury.

z

Be especially careful to check users who might act
in unexpected ways or cannot maintain their
posture independently.

J

For the bed or other products used in
combination with the air mattress, use suitable
products specified by Paramount Bed.

z

The use of products other than the specified

suitable products or products from other companies
could create unintended gaps, cause interference
between products, or lower stability, resulting in
injury or damage to the air mattress. For suitable
products, see p.

30

.

J

Do not use the air mattress for infants or
children

  aged 1  or under

z

This product is not designed for infants or children.
There is a risk of injury or suffocation due to
pressure caused by a part of the body getting
caught in the gap between the air mattress and a
bed side-rail, etc.

J

Use an air mattress that is the same width and
length as the bed.

z

If an air mattress that is not the same width and
length as the bed is used, there is a risk of
unexpected gaps being created and part of the
body getting caught, resulting in injury.

J

When getting in and out of the bed (air
mattress) or taking a sitting position, be careful
not to fall or topple over.

z

When getting in and out of the bed (air mattress) or

taking a sitting position, set "Max inflate mode" and
wait  for  the  air  mattress  to  become  hard  before
doing  it.  Furthermore,  a  caregiver  or  attendant
should support the body of the user or let the user
hold  on  to  the  swing  arm  grip,  etc.  to  ensure  that
the user does not slip off the bed.

J

Take care to prevent the user from falling off
the bed even when bed side-rails are used.

z

The user may bend forward over a bed side-rail
and fall off the bed, possibly causing injury.

z

Be careful because this air mattress is thicker than
other mattresses and the height of the bed-side
rails becomes relatively low, so it is easier for the
user to roll over them.

J

Do not transport the air mattress while the user
is on the air mattress.

z

Transport the air mattress while a person or heavy
object is not on the air mattress. If the air mattress
is transported while a person or heavy object is on
the air mattress, the person may fall off the air
mattress or the air mattress may be damaged.

J

Take care to prevent the air mattress from
protruding from the bed and slipping off it.

z

If the air mattress protrudes from the bed when
raising the back of the bed or when the user gets in
or out of the bed, the air mattress may slip off the
bed and the user also may fall off or topple over.
The air mattress is light in weight because of its
characteristics, so extra care is required.

J

Do not apply shock to the air mattress by
standing up or jumping on the air mattress.

z

There is a risk of injury due to falling or damage to
the air mattress.

J

Use the air mattress according to the user’s
medical condition.

z

Depending on the user's medical condition, the
user's medical condition could worsen by operating
the air mattress.
