Features
Distinctive Dial Tones
An extension user will hear 3 types of dial tone patterns which give information about the
features activated on the telephone.
Dial Tone 1: This is a normal dial tone. None of the features listed in Dial Tone 2 are
activated.
Dial Tone 2: Sent when any of the following features are set.
• Absent Message Capability
• Background Music (BGM)
(for proprietary telephones only)
• Call Forwarding
• Call Pickup Deny
• Data Line Security
• Do Not Disturb (DND)
• Electronic Extension Lockout
• Message Waiting
(for proprietary telephones only)
• Pickup Dialling
• Remote Extension Lock Control
(for single line telephones only)
• Timed Reminder
Dial Tone 3: Sent when making an Account Code Entry and answering a Timed
Reminder call. Also sent when going off-hook with a single line telephone
which has a message in a Voice Processing System.

Display Contrast Adjustment

Allows a display proprietary telephone user to adjust the display contrast with the
CONTRAST selector.
