4.2 IP network
This PLC adaptor is managed by an IP address.
Access to the PLC adaptor can be accessed by specifying an IP address from a PC that exceeds the
router for alive monitoring and setting of the PLC adaptor.
4.2.1 MAC(Media Access Control) Address
It is a 6-byte address which has no duplicate around the world. The first three bytes are the
manufacturer’s code, and the remaining three bytes are unique values to manage so as to not be
duplicated, and this is the manufacturer's responsibility.
For communication within the same subnet, the MAC address is used.
4.2.2 IP(Internet Protocol) Address
The IP address in decimal notation depends on the four groups of numbers separated by dots called
octets.
It consists of (Example) 192.168.32.1
An IP address is assigned to each terminal on the Internet a global IP address.
It is managed by the NIC (Network Information Center) of each country. In Japan, JPNIC is the
representative organization.
Applications to these organizations will be granted addresses of classes A - C.
Class A: Address where the network address part is 1 byte
Class B: Address where the network address part is specified by 2 bytes
Class C: Address where the network address part is specified by 3 bytes
On the other hand, an address that can be used in a closed network is called a private address.
The following addresses are prepared and can be used efficiently.
Class A: 10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255
Class B: 172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.255
Class C: 192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255
