8.4.2 Setting Station Numbers
By default, the station number for each communication port is set to 1 in the system register
settings. There is no need to change this for 1:1 communication, but if 1:N communication is
used to connect multiple PLCs to the transmission line, the station number must be specified
to identify the different PLCs.
The station number is specified either by using
A. station number setting switch on the side of the FP
Σ
CPU
B. SYS1 instruction
C. system register settings in the programming tool
The priority for setting the station number is in the above order.
Setting the station number setting switch to 0 enables the SYS1 instruction and the system
register settings. In the system registers, individual settings are possible for the
communication ports.
Setting the station number setting switch to a value other than 0 enables the switch setting,
and the system register setting is ignored. In this case, the same station number is allocated
to all communication ports.
NOTE
The station number for the TOOL port must be set in the system registers. It
cannot be set using the station number setting switch.
A. Setting station numbers with the setting switch
The station number setting switch is located underneath the cover on the left side of the FP
Σ
CPU. Use the selector switch and the dial switch to set a station number. The station number
can be set within a range of 1 to 31.
