Switches to compass mode. Your position indicator on the map will rotate to match the
direction the phone is facing while the map stays stationary. Tap again and the map will rotate
to match the direction the phone is facing while the position indicator stays stationary.
Viewing details about a place
1.
Search for the desired place on the map.
2.
Tap the name of the place on the map, or tap and hold any area of the map.
•
The name of the place is displayed in a text bubble.
3.
Tap the text bubble to display details about the place and other options.
Viewing the help site
While viewing the map, tap
and then tap
[Help]
.
Switching between features
Tap the feature name in the upper-left corner of the screen to view a list of available features and then
select the desired feature.
Getting directions
1.
Tap
[Maps]
in the Home screen or app list.
2.
Tap
.
3.
Specify the starting point and end point as desired.
•
You can enter an address stored in your contacts and select other options by tapping .
4.
Select a mode of transportation (car, public transportation, etc.).
5.
Tap
[GET DIRECTIONS]

Depending on the selected mode of transportation, you can tap to get voice-guided navigation
with turn-by-turn directions.
•
You can tap and to see a close-up of each section of the route.
•
You can tap
[DIRECTIONS LIST]
to see a list of the directions guiding you to your destination.
Navigation
The
[Navigation]
app uses your phone’s Internet connection and GPS antenna to provide voice-guided
navigation with turn-by-turn directions.

Navigation information may not be available in certain regions.
Using [Navigation]
1.
Tap
[Navigation]
in the Home screen or app list.
2.
Flick left or right to select the desired page of options.

: Allows you to specify a destination by selecting it from your starred places that you
created in
[Maps]
.

[SHORTCUTS]
: Allows you to specify a destination using a variety of options.

[CONTACTS]
: Allows you to specify a destination by selecting it from your contacts.

Select the desired item or option to enter your destination.

[Speak destination]
: Allows you to specify a destination by speaking it.

[Type destination]
: Allows you to specify a destination by entering it with the keyboard.

[Go home]
: Allows you to specify your home as the destination.
