4.3-5 Rope
winch
If it is possible to over straighten the hinged arm of
your crane and the rope winch is mounted to the main
boom, it is necessary to extend the extendable arm
package by 1 m before you begin to operate the
winch.
If you do not extend the extendable arm package and
then overstraighten the hinged arm, the rope will
chafe at the first extendable arm. This causes damage
to the rope and the extendable arm and may cause
the load to fall down.
Whenever you use the crane in rope winch operation, the vehicle must be secured horizontally.
For rope winch operation only use Palfinger rope winches, pulleys, pulley heads, etc.
Mount the winch components (intermediate pulleys, pulley heads) as shown in the technical sheet. Use
the correct bolts and bolt locks for each of the pulleys. Then place the rope over the pulleys as shown
in the technical sheet and fasten the bottom sheaver (hook) to the gutter ring.
After mounting of winch components (intermediate pulleys, pulley heads) check the reeving of load
rope for chafing on crane components. The load rope and crane components could be seriously
damaged.
1. Rope winch
2. Load rope
3. Guide pulley (for winch on main boom)
4. Intermediate pulley
5. Trolley head
6. Bottom sheaver (Hook)
By single rope use, put the rope trough the trolley head and but
the pin trough the rope head an the load attachment of the crane
hook.
By two way rope use put also the rope trough the trolley head
and the trough the bottom sheaver and fix it then at the trolley
head by a pin.
