he Mode Button once will put the printer into the “Foil Changing Mode” and make it
possible for the user to change the foil. It may be necessary to use this Button to put the
printer into certain states of operation that will allow the user to perform this and other
tasks. In each case it is necessary to do the following:
1. Pressing Mode initiates the process (for example pressing the Mode button once to
change foil).
2. Press Print to start the process.
3. Press Reset to take the printer out of this Mode.

PRINTHEAD
The printhead consists of an array of individually addressable heating elements. It pro-
vides energy to transfer the image from the film to the item being printed.
Caution: The Printhead can fail prematurely due to mechanical abuse or static dis-
charge. Refer to Chapter 6 - Printhead Maintenance - for additional important informa-
tion. Read before operating Foil Xpress Direct.
