Unpacking
First review and then complete this procedure to unpack your Foil Xpress Direct.
NOTE: Follow the instructions carefully to remove transportation screw before operating
Foil Xpress Direct. (Instructions are included in the Quick Printing Guide and in this
Manual).
1. Use a utility knife to carefully cut the packaging tape on the shipping carton.
2. Remove the top piece of packing foam.
3. Inspect the contents for damage. Notify the carrier immediately if the shipment was
mishandled or damaged in transit.
4. Foil Xpress Direct weighs approximately 20 pounds (10 kg)
Lifting
WARNING: Bodily injury and systems damage might result from improper lifting. Do not
attempt to lift Foil Xpress Direct by its casing or components at the top of the unit.
In order to avoid injury or damage to Foil Xpress Direct , lift out of the box following direc-
tions on Page 12.
Caution: Do not place hand under lead screw because this will damage the lead screw.
Place Foil Xpress Direct on a flat, sturdy, surface. The unit is 21” wide x 14” deep by 11” high
(53 cm x 36 cm x 28 cm). Ideally, the workspace on which Foil Xpress Direct is positioned
should accommodate at least twice the weight of the printer.
Consider operator access when positioningFoil Direct. Access is required to the frontfor film
loading and product decorating.Also, consider the convenience to a powersource when
choosing a suitable location.
UNPACKING FOIL XPRESS DIRECT
Very important: Be sure to keep all packaging
materials. It is imperative that Foil Xpress Direct
be packaged properly if it is shipped in the
future. It is necessary to remove and reposition
the Tansportation Protection Screw before
operating the printer.
