5) Select the type of eye (aphakic, phakic, pseudo-phakic, with cataract).
6) Select Immersion to use an immersion cup.
7) Select Silicone Oil if the eye is filled with silicone oil.
8) Perform the measurement of the eye. If you select Auto, the acquisition of
values automatically ends after each measurement has been completed. The
acquisition of values automatically restarts after a preset period of time, which is
generally around 3 seconds, so that the next measurement can be performed.
In manual mode, the acquisition of values must be started and stopped
manually. At the end of the process (up to ten measurements), it is important to
remember to save all the patient data by pressing <save> on the footswitch.
The data is permanently stored in the database.
9) Press the button “Setting” to display the panel in which it is possible to set the
ultrasound rate inside the eye and other constants.
a. Corneal is the US rate inside the cornea.
b. Aqueous is the US rate inside the aqueous humor.
c. Vitreous is the US rate inside the vitreous humor.
d. Lens is the US rate inside the natural crystalline lens.
e. Average is an average value used for internal calculations.
f. PMMA is the US rate for a pseudo-phakic eye with PMMA intraocular
lens (for the lens selection only).
g. Acrylic is the US rate for a pseudo-phakic eye with acrylic intraocular
lens (for the lens selection only).
h. Silicone is the US rate for a pseudo-phakic eye with silicone intraocular
lens (for the lens selection only).
i. Silicone Oil is the US rate in the silicone oil.
j. User defined is an additional setting that can be used for new lens (if
present).
k. Marker can be used to move the white line along the screen and
represents the automatic freezing/unfreezing threshold for biometry
echographs (a choice of a value between 150 to 230 is strongly
recommended).
