Ignoring the "Overload" device state can result in the shut-
down of the UPS system! Brief device overloads as caused by
laser printers or laser fax machines are also to be avoided.
Also, do not connect any household appliances such as hair-
driers, vacuum cleaners or the like to the UPS system. Motors
or similar high current loads can cause power spikes that will
damage the UPS system.
ATTENTION:
Never connect or switch on additional loads con-
nected to the UPS if there is a mains failure, i.e.
the UPS system is in the battery mode.
In case of a UPS overload in the
normal mode
of more than
150% and / or a duration of more than 200ms, the UPS output
sockets are isolated.
The outputs sockets are isolated in the
battery mode
at an
overload of 120%.
9.5 System diagnostics / battery test
The key hardware components can be subjected to an active
function test in the
normal mode
.
After
TEST
is pressed, the loads connected are switched to
the
battery mode
for a few seconds. Along with a check on the
sequence of operation and functionality of the changeover
device, power is drawn from the battery for the duration of the
test. The inverter supplies the entire load with power from the
battery, such that the entire process chain is tested. On com-
pletion of the test routine, the UPS automatically switches
back to the
normal mode
.
Starting the system diagnostics:
•
Press
TEST
until the continuous acoustic warning stops
(approx. 5 sec.).
•
An additional function of
TEST
is the deactivation of the
acoustic alarm. With the acoustic alarm active, keep the
button pressed for at least one second. The alarm remains
inactive until a new fault reactivates the alarm. If the alarm
