Connections
The ED-301 may be connected to either a single amplifier with 5.1-channel input (ONKYO's TX-SV919THX/828THX/646/545/454/444, etc.) or three
independent power amplifiers.
If the player has an optical output terminal, connect it to INPUT-1 (OPTICAL). If the player has a coaxial output terminal, connect it to INPUT-2 (COAXIAL).
Note:
• Do not turn on any component until you have completed all connections.
• Insert the plugs and connectors securely. Remember that improper connection can result in noise, poor performance, or damage to the equipment.
• Do not bind audio connection cables with power cords and speaker cables. Doing so causes degraded sound quality.
• Remove the protective cap attached to the INPUT-1 (OPTICAL) terminal before making connection. When this terminal is not in use, replace
the protective cap.
• To connect players, use cables supplied with the equipment or the proper commercially available cables.
• If your speakers are connected via three independent power amplifiers, do not connect an external decoder or DVD player to the MULTI-
CHANNEL AUDIO INPUT jacks of the ED-301. Doing so may cause damage to the power amplifiers or speakers because there is no means of
adjusting the output level.
*
To play Dolby Digital soundtracks, the LD player with a Dolby Digital (AC-3RF) output jack is required.
