System configuration

To construct an effective digital surround system, you need amplifier(s)
and loudspeakers in addition to the ED-301 and the player (DVD, LD
or CD player, VCR, etc.). Connect and set-up system components
properly for your existing audio system.

Speaker layout

Typical examples of speaker layout are shown below. The layout,
however, may vary depending on the size and wall material of your
listening room.
To obtain ideal sound field effects, be sure to place the Right and Left
Front speakers at the same distance from your listening position.

Layout for system lacking subwoofer, center speaker, or
surround speakers

To get the highest-quality surround sound from the ED-301, you need a
complete speaker system as shown above. Even so, you can enjoy
quality surround sound by setting the ED-301 to properly distribute the
sound originally intended for these non-existing speakers to existing
front and surround speakers, even if your system lacks the subwoofer,
center speaker, or surround speakers.
