Setup of the INPUT
SETUP Menu
This menu is used to set up the input signal.
When the setup of the “INPUT SEL,” “SD/HD SEL,”
“SD FORMAT,” or “SD SYNC(IN)” is changed, the
display switching takes several seconds. Moreover, you
cannot capture during the switching.
To display the INPUT SETUP menu

Press the MENU button to initiate the menu
display.

Press “
b
” or “
B
” to display the INPUT SETUP
menu, which can be identified with characters
“INPUT SETUP” on the top left of the monitor
(See Figure 5.8).

Setting “INPUT SEL”
This item is used to select the format of the video signal
input to this instrument. “INPUT SEL” can also be set in
the BASIC SETUP menu. Changing the setup of either
item affects the setups of both items.

Characters “INPUT SEL” are displayed in green
when the cursor is positioned on this item.

” to select from among “VIDEO,”
“S-VIDEO” and “COMPONENT.”
The selected setting is displayed in green on the
monitor.
Setting “SD/HD SEL”
This item is used to select either the SDTV or the HDTV
signal as the input video signal.
This setup is valid only when “COMPONENT” is
selected in “INPUT SEL” in the INPUT SETUP menu.
In addition, the HDTV image and the SDTV image
cannot be printed together on one print sheet.
Moreover, the HDTV image and the SDTV image
cannot be captured and displayed together in the same
memory page.
CAUTION
When the new image is captured, the previous image is
overwritten, if there are images which are not printed in
the memory when the input video signal is switched. It
may cause image loss.
Capture after surely confirming whether there is any
image which is not printed.

when it is used as the input video signal to this
instrument.

VIDEO :
Inputs a composite video signal.
S-VIDEO :
Inputs an S-video signal.
COMPONENT :
Inputs a component video or an
HDTV signal.
SD :
Uses the SDTV signal as the input video
signal.
HD :
Uses the HDTV signal as the input video
signal.
AUTO :
Switches this instrument according to the
result of automatic detection of the input video
signal.
