3.9 Attaching and detaching the strap
When you want to hang the base unit from your shoulder, attach the shoulder
strap. Be careful not to use a shoulder strap other than those designated by
Olympus.
WARNING
• Never attempt to carry an object other than the base unit using the shoulder strap. Otherwise,
the strap may be damaged and cause the base unit to drop.
• Be sure to check that the shoulder strap is free of irregularities such as frayed fibers and
damaged metal parts before use.
•
Do not use the shoulder strap in a manner that is subjected to an excessive load by, for
example, swinging the base unit or placing a heavy object on the instrument.
• When using the shoulder strap, be careful not to hit the base unit against other objects.
•
When using the shoulder strap, be careful not to bring it in direct contact with your skin.
Otherwise, there will be a risk of low-temperature burns on your skin due to the heat of the
instrument may result.
CAUTION
• Do not store the base unit by hanging it from something. Otherwise, the strap may be
damaged.
• Be sure to check that the hook levers of the strap are returned to their original positions.
Otherwise, the base unit may drop when you attempt to carry it.

While pushing on the hook lever of the shoulder strap, engage the
hook with the strap ring of the base unit.
