Calibration of TEC-05X Amplifier with x10 Headstage
GENERAL: The current range of the x10 low voltage headstage is the following:
1.2 µA into 10 M
(max. output voltage is 12 V)
All current related inputs and outputs must be multiplied by a factor of ten.
This is valid for all four modes of operation (R
EL
, BR, CC, VC)
Potential related signals are not affected.
CURRENT STIMULUS INPUT:
1 nA/V:
corresponds 10 nA/V
HOLDING: XX.X nA (max. 99.9 nA)
CURRENT OUTPUT SENSITIVITY: 0.1 V/nA corresponds 0.01 V/nA
0.2 V/nA corresponds 0.02 V/nA
0.5 V/nA corresponds 0.05 V/nA
1 V/nA
corresponds 0.1 V/nA
2 V/nA
corresponds 0.2 V/nA
5 V/nA
corresponds 0.5V/nA
10 V/nA
corresponds 1 V/nA
CURRENT DISPLAY:
shows current divided by ten (XX.X nA)
10.0 corresponds to 100 nA
Maximum shown is 199 nA
BRIDGE BALANCE:
Switch in 100 M
position:
XXX M
(050 corresponds 5 M
), Maximum is 99.9 M
Switch in 10 M
position:
XXX M
(050 corresponds 0.5 M
), Maximum is 9.9 M
ELECTR. RESISTANCE DISPLAY: shows electrode resistance multiplied by ten XXX M
(050
corresponds 5 M
), Maximum is 199 M
Important
: If high-resistance electrodes are used the capacity compensation must be set properly for
exact determination of R
EL
.
Example:
HOLDING CURRENT: 100 corresponds to 10 nA, the DISPLAY will show 01.0 nA
INPUT at 1V/nA BNC: 1V corresponds to 10 nA, the DISPLAY will show 01.0 nA
voltage at CURRENT OUTPUT is then
CURRENT OUTPUT SENSITIVITY 0.1V/nA:
0.1V
CURRENT OUTPUT SENSITIVITY 1 V/nA:
1V
CURRENT OUTPUT SENSITIVITY 10 V/nA:
10V
