Sometimes it is necessary to limit the rise time of
a voltage clamp pulse especially in connection
with PI-controllers to avoid overshooting of the

25 FREQUENCY MONITOR FREQUENCY MONITOR BNC connector
The position of the POTENTIAL FILTER
switch 4 is monitored at the FREQUENCY
MONITOR BNC (-8...+7 Volt, 1 Volt / switch
position).
26 MODE SELEC (TTL) MODE SELECT BNC connector
If the EXTERNAL CONTROL MODE . is set
with the MODE of OPERATION switch 20 the
mode of operation can be preset by a TTL pulse
applied to the
MODE SELECT BNC connector
26. A LOW signal presets C mode (switched
current clamp mode), a HIGH signal presets V
mode (switched voltage clamp mode).

LED (light emitting diode) This switch activates the automatic electrode
resistance measurement mode.
· In this mode brief current pulses are applied
to the microelectrode and the resistance is
displayed on the upper display in M

· The activation of this mode is indicated by

LED above the switch. The
electrode resistance is measured correctly
regardless of DC offsets.
· Important : The displayed resistance may be
dependent on the correct setting of the
capacity compensation (see
28 )
28 CAPACITY COMPENSATION
CAPACITY COMPENSATION
Fine adjustment for the compensation of input
capacitance (ten turn potentiometer, clockwise),
up to 20 pF can be compensated. (Coarse
compensation control on headstage (CC) and
tuning procedure see CAPACITY
COMPENSATION chapter).
