ARP MENU Button
Pressing this button accesses the Arpeggiator Menu. The LED above the
MENUS button in the Mode / Keypad section of the front panel lights to
confirm this. The parameters and features available in the Arpeggiator
Menu are detailed on page 54.
Hypersync
It is possible to synchronise many Effects parameters and other features
such as LFO speed to a common, internal clock or to an external MIDI
clock supplied by a sequencer. Synchronisation of each individual setting
can be achieved by accessing the various parameters via the
Synchronisation Menu. This can be very time consuming so to speed up
the process, 16 editable ‘Hypersync’ templates are available which pro-
vide effective, musically synchronized settings.
When selected, a Hypersync template applies synchronisation settings to
four Effects and four Program parameters. Settings for the Delay level,
Chorus Level, Panning Depth and EQ Modulation Depth are also applied
making a total of twelve Hypersync values.
Using tempo synchronized features can significantly enhance music pro-
duction. The details of the eight values capable of being synchronized to
internal or external MIDI clock are :
Delay
The time period of the Delay Effect is synchronized. The Delay level can
be stored in the Hypersync template.
Chorus / Phaser
The time period of the Chorus / Phaser is synchronized. The Chorus /
Phaser level can be stored in the Hypersync template.
Panning
The Panning time period is Synchronized. The Panning Depth setting can
be stored in the Hypersync template.
EQ / Filter
The EQ / Filter sweep time is synchronized. The Modulation Depth setting
can be stored in the Hypersync template.
LFO 1 & LFO 2
The amount of time taken for an LFO to play a single cycle of its wave-
form can be synchronized. Each LFO can be synchronized individually.
LFO 1 Delay & LFO 2 Delay
The delay time period for an LFO can be synchronized. Each LFO can be
synchronized individually.
HYPERSYNC Knob
This selects which Hypersync template is applied to the Program (sound).
The display indicates which template is applied when the knob is at non-
zero. At the fully counterclockwise position, the Hypersync Menu will de-
activate and the normal Progam Mode or Performance Mode display will
be activated.
When no Hypersync template is selected, all of the
original
parameter val-
ues stored in the Program / Performance are restored to the Sync and
Effects settings. The Hypersync ON LED is not lit.
As the HYPERSYNC knob is moved clockwise, each of the sixteen tem-
plates are selected in turn. For example :
Hypersync 01
Syncopated Delay
The Hypersync ON LED lights to indicate a Hypersync Template has been
selected. The number on the top line of the display indicates which of the
sixteen templates is selected. For reference, each template is assigned a
name which is shown on the bottom line of the display
When shipped from the factory, the first eight Hypersync templates are
pre-configured.
When the any of these first eight templates are activated the display will
show
Hypersync 01
Preset Table 1
The actual number will depend on the which number is selected. The pre-
set table names may be edited, see the section on the following page,

Editing a Hypesync Template
Moving the HYPERSYNC knob displays the next Hypersync Template.
(the program currently selected will change its sounds according to the
Hypersync values). Once the desired Template has been selected, use
the PERF / PROG / PAGE Buttons to access the three Hypersync editing
pages.
Press the PERF / PROG / PAGE Up button. The display shows:
DELY CHOR EQ PAN
1bar 4th 2nd 8th
Here the synchronisation rates of the Delay, Chorus, EQ and Panning
may edited. The cursor indicates which of the four parameters on the
page can be altered with the PERF / PROG / DATA knob.
In the above example, the Chorus Delay sync is selected for editing. The
SELECT Buttons can be used to move the cursor to select a different
parameter for editing.
The tables found on page 52 gives the possible synchronisation settings
for the various Effects. It is also possible to set each parameter to
NCH
(no change) or
FRN
(Free Run) . When set to
FRN
, the Effect is not syn-
chronised and will run at its own independent tempo.
Pressing the PERF / PROG / PAGE Up button again, shows :
