Installing System Memory
Please see instruction on cover removal Removing the Case Cover
▪
The motherboard now uses the new Q-DIMM sockets making insertion and removal of
DIMMs easier. These sockets have a maneuverable clip on only one side, with the other
side having a stationary clip.
To install a RAM module (DIMM):
Align a DIMM on the socket such that the notches on the DIMM matches the break
on the socket.
1.
Firmly insert the DIMM into the socket until the retaining clips snap into place and
the DIMM is properly seated when a click is heard.
2.
A DDR4 DIMM is keyed with a notch so that it fits in only one direction. To
avoid damaging the DIMM, do not force a DIMM into a socket .
▪
The DDR4 DIMM sockets do not support DDR DIMMs. Do not install DDR
DIMMs into the DDR3 DIMM sockets.
▪
It is not necessary to enter the setup after changing the
configuration, the system automatically detects the new configuration.
▪
Disconnect the power supply before adding or removing DIMMs or other
system components in order to not cause damage to the motherboard and
the components.
