DC power supply fundamentals
ATTENTION
The 8004DC or 8005DC power supply replaces the discontinued 8002DC power
supply.
Nortel has not tested the 8002DC power supply with the Ethernet Routing
Switch 8600 modules released since Release 3.7. Therefore, Nortel
recommends that you use the 8004DC or 8005DC power supply with these
modules.
8004DC power supply
Each 8004DC power supply provides 850 watts (W) of power to the switch.

shows the 8004DC power
supply used in the 8006, 8010, and 8010co chassis.

Minimum number of 8004DC power supplies to install
To configure an Ethernet Routing Switch 8600 system, consider the total
power consumption to ensure proper system performance.
The total input power-consumption of the components (modules and fan
trays or cooling modules) must not exceed the output power rating of the
8004DC power supply (850 W).
