See Figure C 3-3. If a downstream machine is not present, connect the
factory supplied SMPI plug to the exit end SMPI connector to simulate
the downstream machine This plug connects pin 9 to 19 and pin 14 to 20.
This will keep the alarm screen from displaying when product is at
sensor 4.

The following paragraphs describe the functions of the SMPI sensors.
Sensor 4 signals the downstream machine that product is available for
transfer.
Sensor 4 also signals if the downstream machine is not able to accept
product while product is over it. An alarm will sound, an error screen will
appear, and the blue light tower will flash. However, the oven will
continue to process product.
If the downstream machine is able to accept product and product builds
up on sensor 4, the blue light will flash but no error screen will occur. If
the product continues to back up to sensor 3, the red light will flash, the
oven will sound an alarm and turn off, and the screen will display an error
message.
Triggering sensor 4 can be seen on the Traffic Control card LED I7.
When SMPI is disabled, sensor 4 is also disabled.
