The product monitoring portion of Traffic Control consists of photoelectric
detection sensors 2 and 3 on a pin conveyor system. Sensor 2 is located
at the beginning of the first heat zone and sensor 3 is at the end of the
last heat zone. Sensors 2 and 3 monitor product within the process
cavity.
Sensor 2
Sensor 2 verifies that the product is entering the process cavity. At this
time a clock is set, and based on conveyor speed, the oven will
determine the amount of time the product should take to reach sensor 3.
If product remains over sensor 2 due to product build-up or product that
does not reach sensor 3 on time, the red light will flash, the oven sounds
an alarm, turns off the oven, and displays an error message on the
screen. Triggering sensor 2 can be seen on the Traffic Control board
LED I3.
Sensor 3
Sensor 3 determines if product is arriving on time, and verifies the
product count. If a product does not reach sensor 3 in time, the oven will
sound an alarm and turn off, and the screen will display an error
message. The Process Data window shows the operator how many
boards need to be reprocessed.
If the product passes sensor 3 at the proper time it is counted as a good
product in process data. Any build up over this sensor will also be
detected. A board handling error will activate an error screen, audible
alarm, and a process shutdown if appropriate. Triggering sensor 3 can
be seen on the Traffic Control board LED I6.
Pace delay is only active on in-line ovens with Traffic Control and the
optional SMPI enabled (sensors 1 and 4). Pace delay is set to the
spacing between product as it is passed from the up-line machine to the
oven. Spacing between the product is adjustable in
1
/
2
second
increments. The spacing is also dependent on system-to-system
alignment, rail adjustment and the product (friction). Pace delay
parameters are accessed through the Set Up mode.
