Submenu 1.3: Setting of the operating
mode (RTC/GPS/DCF77)
If this submenu is entered display shows 03:xx:yy.
‘xx’ indicates the following:
01: operating mode RTC
02: operating mode GPS
03: operating mode DCF77 positive
04: operating mode DCF77 negative
Operating mode RTC (01):
The clock runs synchronized by the internal RTC. The
RTC must be set by hand. The signals on the
GPS/DCF input are ignored.
Operating mode GPS (02):
The clock runs synchronized by the internal RTC. The
RTC can be set by hand, but is automatically adjusted
as soon as a usable GPS signal is received on the
GPS input.
Operating mode DCF77 positive (03):
The clock runs synchronized by the internal RTC. The
RTC can be set by hand, but is automatically adjusted
as soon as a usable DCF77 signal is received on the
DCF input.
The polarity of the DCF signal is positive. That means
that at the DCF input the off state is 0V, and the pulse
voltage is 5V.
Operating mode DCF77 negative (04):
Same as before, but the polarity of the DCF signal is
negative. That means that at the DCF input the off
state is 5V, and the pulse voltage is 0V.
With button 2 and 3 the operating mode can be
chosen.
‘yy’ indicates the following:
In operating mode RTC (01) the both digits do not
have any function and show "00"
In operating mode GPS (02):
- if no GPS protocols are received, both digits do
nothing
- if GPS protocols are received, and the GPS
receiver has no GPS fix, both digits count down
- if GPS protocols are received, and the GPS
receiver a GPS fix and sends time data to the
clock both digits count up
In operating modes DCF (03 and 04) the both digits
show the received pulses (seconds) by counting
from 00 upwards. If an error in the DCF signal is
recognized, the digits are reset to "00" and start to
count again.
