Notes:
- The speed setting is also valid for the fading speed
of the colons, if fading effect (03) for the colons is
set in submenu 2.7
- The speed setting does not influence the LED
fading speed.
Using button 2 and 3 the chosen digit can be set. To
switch to the next position, button 1 must be pressed.
To confirm this step shifting from digit to digit, the
following digit scrolls through by using the flip over
effect. After the last digit, the first digit shall be enabled
again.
Setup Example:
•
The value in this menu shall be set to 06:13:zz.
•
Clock is in day display mode or night power-down
mode.
•
Press button 1 (short) to enter the main menu 2.
•
Clock stops and displays the current set alarm time.
•
Press button 2 five times to reach submenu 2.6.
•
Press button 1 (short) to enter the submenu 2.6.
•
Press button 2 and button 3 to set the third digit (to
'1')
•
Press button 1 (short) to jump to the fourth digit
•
Press button 2 and button 3 to set the fourth digit (to
'3')
•
Press button 1 long time (0.5 seconds) to leave the
submenu 2.6.
•
Press button 1 long time (0.5 seconds) to leave the
main menu 2.
•
Clock starts running in day display mode or night
power-down mode.
Submenu 2.7: Setting colon effect
If this submenu is entered, display shows 07:00:xx
whereas ‘xx’ indicates colon effect setting.
The settings at position ‘xx’ mean the following:
00:
colons are switched off completely, while time or
date is displayed.
01:
colons are switched on all the time with the
brightness set in submenu 2.8 (if clock is in day
display mode) or 2.10 (if clock is in night power-
down mode). When time is displayed, both dots
of the colons are switched on. While date is
displayed, only the lower dots are switched on.
02*): colons are flashing in rhythm 0.5 seconds on/0.5
seconds off with the brightness set in submenu
2.8 (if clock is in day display) or 2.10 (if clock is
in night power-down mode).
03*): colons fade in and out in rhythm 2 seconds. The
speed of the fading sequence depends to the
speed setting in submenu 2.6.
*) Note: When the date is displayed, both lower dots
of the colons are continuously switched on, with the
appropriate brightness level, even if the flashing
effect or the fading effect is set. That means,
the flashing effect and the fading effect for the
colons applies only for the time display, not for
the date display.
If this menu is entered, the colons (both dots) show
the chosen setting.
With button 2 and 3 the value can be set.

to 03.

the submenu 2.7.
•
Press button 1 long time (0.5 seconds) to leave
the main menu 2.

Submenu 2.8: Setting of the tubes and
colon brightness for day display mode
If this submenu is entered, display shows 08:00:xx
whereas ‘xx’ indicates tubes and colon brightness
setting for day display mode.
The value xx can be set from 02 to 10 whereas 02
is the lowest brightness (20%) and 10 is full
brightness (100%).
If this menu is entered, the tubes and colons are
dimmed down the chosen setting.
With button 2 and 3 the value can be set.
Note: The reason, why the tubes can not be
dimmed lower than 20% is, because if the duty
factor is lower than 20% the cathodes of Nixie
tubes will not be illuminated completely. This is a
limiting factor of physics.
Setup Example:
•
The value in this menu shall be set to 08:00:07 –
(brightness 70%).
•
Clock is in day display mode or night power-
down mode.
•
Press button 1 (short) to enter the main menu 2.
•
Clock stops and displays the current set alarm
time.
•
