Note:
All network operations with respect to the module to be
removed will go down when the module is replaced. Ensure to
prepare well for the maintenance operation in order to keep the
down time to a minimum.
Caution:
The modules are sensitive to ESD and static discharges when
handled outside the switch rack or the protective packaging.
Make sure to use ESD precaution to avoid damaging the
modules.
Hardware Maintenance
General
All network interface modules in the switch can be replaced without powering
down the switch. This can be performed without any configuration changes. Note!
All communications of which the specific module is part of will be disabled until
the module is replaced and started.
On all network interface modules, a Remove LED indicator and a Request
removal button are used to handle the hot swap functionality.
Removing and Replacing Plug-in Modules to Nimbra
300 series switches
Disconnecting a Network Interface Module
1.
Press the Request removal button on the module to be replaced. In a short
while, the Power LED is turned off and the Remove LED is turned on.
2.
Remove the screws at the handles of the module. Push the locks outward to
unlock the module from the chassis, see Figure 28. (Use a Torx T8 screw
driver.)
