2.1.
Preliminary observation
Access to the rooms assigned for the use of the machine must be permitted only to personnel
authorized by the healthcare management authority.
You are reminded that in the rooms assigned for use of the machine it is forbidden to drink,
smoke or eat.
For all operations required, the use of protective gloves is compulsory.
The various risk situations that might affect the machine have been analyzed, verifying the
precautions and technical solutions required to eliminate or reduce them in the most
appropriate way by applying adequate measures of protection.
2.2.
Proper use of the sterilizer "Newster ® NW30"
The device and its components may only be used for the treatment of solid potentially
infectious hospital waste as listed in paragraph 1.3.
Do not use the equipment to treat gas containers, chemical, flammable,
explosive or radioactive materials. Hard and compact masses (eg. compact
metal bodies with mass greater than 100 grams, stones, etc..) can cause
damages to the rotating and fixed blades.
The apparatus is not suitable for the treatment of liquids or waste having less than 60% of
dry matter. In these cases, the waste may be treated after being mixed with material from a
previous treatment.
The apparatus can not be loaded only with materials with a melting point of less than 150°C
(as PVC). In this case the waste can be treated by mixing with another material which has a
melting point higher than 150°C. In any case, the average weight of materials with a melting
point less than this value should not exceed 60% of the total weight.
The equipment is designed to operate at atmospheric pressure (in order to enable the cell to
be in depression). Do not cover, for any reason, the exhaust outcoming vapours, otherwise
the system may go slightly under pressure.
2.3.
Qualified Personnel
Operating on this equipment is allowed only to trained personnel, namely:

operational staff who has received proper training to work with the equipment and
who knows the contents of this manual and of the annexed documentation,

service and maintenance personnel shall be trained to repair automation
equipments and authorized to connect and disconnect from electrical power,
open, ground and work on electrical circuits, components and systems according
to what is established by safety regulations.
Do not leave the equipment available to persons who are not properly trained. The non-
compliance of the information contained in the manual or affixed on the equipment itself can
cause serious damage to people and property.After opening the panels of the machines and
