The secondary air (air wash system), which is supplied to the combustion chamber over the
internal glass, is controlled using the right-hand push / pull control located below the stove door.
Push to reduce the burn rate and pull to increase the burn rate.
For approved
smokeless fuel burning
the amount of heat emitted by the stove is controlled by the
primary
air control.
The primary air is controlled using the left-hand push /pull control located below the stove door.
Push to reduce the burn rate and pull to increase the burn rate.
Tertiary air
intake
provides a constant, pre-heated air supply to the combustion chamber just
above the fire, the tertiary air is set at manufacture and is not controllable.
The exact positioning of the air controls to achieve optimum burn for the Windermere 5 SE will
depend on many factors such as weather conditions, chimney size and local topography. However,
to give some guidance please read section 4.3.1 and section 4.3.2.

A stove mitten and long ash pan / operating tool are supplied with this stove for your use when
operating the stove, if the mitten supplied is of the incorrect size for the user, then it is
recommended that the user sources a CE approved stove mitten or glove to the correct size before
lighting and operating this stove.
