3. After the call fails, find the CNA failure message in the WAN
event histor y and note the calling par ty number in the CNA
failure message detail. If none appears, then no calling number
was supplied and CNA cannot be used for this caller. Consult
with your ISDN ser vice provider to ensure that your ISDN line is
provisioned for caller ID.
4. If you suspect that cer tain digits in the calling number are
variable (due to an inter vening PBX, for example), use the
question mark (?) wildcard character for each one of those
digits.
CNA takes precedence over the default answer profile’s Must
Match a Defined Profile item. If Must Match a Defined Profile is
set to Yes , and the call to be authenticated matches a profile, then
that profile’s parameters are used to complete the connection. In
this case, all authentication requirements, such as PAP or CHAP,
must be met for a successful connection to ensue.
