Cleaning the Dryer & Dryer Lamps
CAUTIONS!
If following cautions are not carefully observed; a severe shock and burn hazard exists. If
you don’t feel comfortable performing these procedures; please contact your authorized
Dealer and schedule a service call.
Press the Emergency Stop button to stop the system and power the lamps off.
Allow the dryer lamps to cool for at least 10 minutes before touching or cleaning the
dryer and dryer lamps.
Turn off the main dryer lamp power switch and disconnect the dryer from the wall outlet,
before attempting to clean the dryer or dryer lamps.
The propellant, used in compressed air cans, may be flammable! After using
compressed air cleaners; wait at least 5 minutes before powering the unit on.
Denatured alcohol, in liquid and vapor form, is flammable!
After cleaning with denatured alcohol, wait at least 5 minutes, for the alcohol to
completely evaporate and dissipate, before you power the unit on.
Do not touch the dryer lamps with your bare hands, even if they are cool. Doing so will
deposit oils on the lamps, causing the lamps to overheat and be damaged.
Dryer Housing:
The exterior of the dryer may be cleaned with any standard household cleaner, which is non-
abrasive and does not contain plastic harming solvents.
To clean the dryer housing:
1. Press the Emergency Stop button to stop the system and power the lamps off.
2. Allow the dryer lamps to cool for at least 10 minutes before you continue.
3. Disconnect power from the base and dryer lamps.
4. Using compressed air; clear the system of loose debris.
5. Dampen a soft cotton cloth, with the cleaner and wipe the exterior surfaces. Do not
spray any liquids onto or into the dryer or dryer lamps.
6. Wait 5 minutes before reconnecting power to the dryer and dryer lamps.
Lamps:
The infrared emitters (lamps), in the dryer, must be checked periodically for debris and other
particulates that are deposited over time on the surface of the quartz lamps.
Read the Cautions above, before proceeding.
To clean the lamps:
1. Press the Emergency Stop button to stop the system and power the lamps off.
2. Allow the dryer lamps to cool for at least 10 minutes before you continue.
3. Disconnect power from the base and dryer lamps.
4. To access the lamps; tilt the lamps up, using the Tilt Lever [2].
5. Using compressed air; clear the system of loose debris.
6. Using a soft, dry, cotton cloth, carefully wipe the lamps.
Normally, you should avoid using any liquids to clean the lamps. However; for stubborn
residue you can use a soft cotton cloth, dampened with denatured alcohol. Do NOT wipe
the gold painted side of the lamp or you will remove the reflective coating.
7. Wait 5 minutes before reconnecting power to the dryer and dryer lamps.
